Minivan Insurance in the UK

If you own a minivan in the UK, you might be wondering the best way to insure it. Minivans can be a great alternative to full sized vans. They still provide you with storage and seating capacity, but because they are smaller than full sized vans, they are both easier to drive and cheaper to insure. If you’re debating between purchasing a full size or a mini, think carefully about how much storage space you really need. If you can get by with a mini, it makes much more sense than burdening yourself with the additional expenses associated with a full sized van.
You can insure your minivan through any company that offers insurance on commercial vehicles. The three basic types available are the same as for any sort of vehicle. Third party insurance meets the legal standard. It protects you from liability if you are in a collision with another party; your insurance will pay damages and medical bills, rather than you having to pay them. You cannot drive without at least this minimum insurance.
One step up from this bare-bones sort of insurance is third party with fire and theft. It’s an excellent compromise policy, because it protects you from two major potential causes of damages to your minivan that would not be your fault. If someone hits you with his car, then his insurance should pay your bills, so as long as you are a safe driver and do not cause any accidents, you should be covered.
Comprehensive cover contains these protections and more. If you buy a comprehensive policy you will be able to choose between many options, but damages to your own vehicle will be paid even if it’s your fault, as well as other damages from vandalism or natural disasters. You can add extra features such as breakdown cover, legal assistance in the event of a lawsuit, and a free replacement car.
One other feature to look for minivan insurance policy from any is a no claims bonus which will lower your premiums for every year you do not make a claim. If you drive carefully, you will save money.
